On your white handout, write the definition of the vocabulary for the radio lecture: 4. aid, 8. beneficiaries, 10. dam, 11. destiny, 15. extraordinary, 16. floods, 17. grassroots, 23. infrastructure, 29. monsoon, 30. nationwide, 33. partition, 36. potential, 41. ready-made garments, 42. recipient, 45. shift, 48. subsistence.
Study the usage notes for the words above. (See the purple paper.)

Homework Policy

1. If you are absent, you are responsible for any classwork, homework, quizzes and/or tests that you missed. I will not ask you for the work. I will simply post the assignments online daily. It is your job to consult this log or a classmate.

2. If I returned or handed out any papers in class, I will place them in my box in 103. You can then pick them up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

3. Any homework can be made up within a week. You will lose 10% for each business day that it is late. The only exceptions are for doctors' notes and extreme emergencies.

4. If you miss a Friday test, you can make it up the following Tuesday immediately after school. To do so, get a late form from the office or online (elc.byu.edu/Testing/Computerized Testing/Late test form). Next bring it to me to sign. Then you should go to the office to pay the $5 fee. After that, bring it to the lab attendants BEFORE your test on Tuesday. Finally, go take the test Tuesday at 2:35. As you can see, it's a complicated process, so don't miss your tests!

5. If you make up classwork, you will regain your participation points.

6. If you make up homework, you will regain your homework points.
